Aims & Objective

A group of his friends and admirers has come together to institute a Trust, named ‘M. S. Krishnan Memorial Trust’, with a view to commemorate his life and ideals and initiate social activities that would advance the cause of the toiling masses. The trust has been registered as a Charitable Trust under the Indian Trusts Act.

The Trust has identified some thrust areas for immediate focus to achieve its objectives. They are listed below:

To establish institutions to advance literacy and education among the Poor and the needy. To impart education and training to working people for enhancing their skills.
To establish facilities for offering affordable healthcare to the needy.
To establish a shelter for destitute women and children and a Home for the aged.
To establish a Research institute to carry on studies related to problems of rural and urban workers and landless agricultural workers and small and medium scale cultivating land-holders, the problems of small and medium scale industries in the context of the ongoing globalisation and liberalization policies current socioeconomic and political issues and also studies and activities pertaining to the lives of common people, folklore, literature, theatre, art and culture.
To conduct special studies towards documenting a socioeconomic peoples’ history of Karnataka and the problems of Dalits, Religious Minorities and people in slums leading to solid ideas and generation of activities to ameliorate their conditions are important areas of immediate concern for the Trust.
To conduct campaigns against social evils such as untouchability, communalism and religious bigotry and propagate temperance, spread scientific temper and social harmony.
To conduct seminars, lectures and workshops and disseminate the knowledge through its own publications and media activities.

The Trust has plans to adopt, coordinate and cooperate with the Government's own socio-economic welfare activities for effective delivery and implementation.

In order to implement these ambitious programmes the Trust needs to acquire a few acres of suitable land and also have its own working premises in the city. The Trust is confident of mobilizing sufficient funds tapping the tremendous goodwill that exists amongst the people Krishnan served. The favourable reaction expressed by a vast number of Krishnan’s admirers, both in the public and private domain to contribute and take part in the activities of the trust is the main inspiration behind the formation of this Trust. The Trust appeals to one and all to come forward to support its activities by contributing munificently to the Trust and volunteering to serve on its projects.
